MONDAY- WEDNESDAY WE ARE WORKING ON THE NUMBER THREE, ALONG WITH THE LETTER Dd.
THURSDAY- WE WILL BE REFRESHING OUR MEMORY ON THE LETTERS A-D, NUMBERS 1-3, AND SHAPES CIRCLE, SQUARE, AND TRIANGLE.
FRIDAY- IS REVEIW DAY ALONG WITH ARTS AND CRAFTS.
THIS WEEKS COLORS ARE BLACK AND WHITE, ALONG WITH LAST WEEKS COLORS BLUE, GREEN, AND RED.
Starting this week, here is our new extra-curricular schedule at RSCA:
* Monday is Music (taught by Evan and Isaiah): 9:15am-10am
* Tuesday is Soccer (taught by Mr. David): 9:05am-10am
* Wednesday is T-ball/Softball (taught by Mr. RJ): 9:05am-10am
* Thursday is Basketball (taught by Mr. Knight): 9:05am-10am
* Friday is Golf for K-12th group and Tennis for 3rd-12th group
**Spanish is taught each day while Ms. Veronica relieves the teacher to coach their sport
Monday 9/23 we will continue our alphabet by starting the letter Ee.By Thursday the letter Ff will be introduced. This weeks number is 4 and color is yellow but we still will be going over the colors red, blue, black, green, and white. We are still working on the shapes circle and triangle.
This week numbers are 4 and 5. We will work on counting and recognizing the letters. The class is still reviewing the colors yellow and brown. The classroom letters this week are Ff and Gg. We will work on tracing and identifying the big and little letters. We are also tracing the 1st and 2nd letters of the students 1st name to work on writing skills. Science this week will be mixing two colors and explaining how it makes another color (i.e blue and yellow makes green)
Students will also be able to use their creative skills with the arts and crafts we do during the week.
We will be refreshing our memory of the number 5 and in the middle of the week we are introducing the number 6. We are working on counting, identifying, and tracing the numbers. This week's color is pink. Students will discuss items in the classroom and everyday living that are pink. In social studies we are discussing respecting others and themselves. In science we are discussing balance, air, and the different types of clouds (cumulus, stratus, cirrus) Phonics will be introducing the letter Hh but also remembering the letters Aa-Gg.
In arts and crafts we are keeping up the fall theme from last week.
Our Bible verse is Genesis1:9-10 we will discuss how God made everything on day 3. Our classroom number is 6 and he classroom letter is Ii, we will be counting, identifying, and being able to recognize the number and letter. The color of the week is purple, we will be working on identifying. This weeks shape is square.
In science we will be discussing balance and the human pulse.
In Language Arts we will continue to work on verbal skills and getting the students to speak with complete sentences
In Arts and Crafts we will continue to explore Autumn and learn to turn paper plates into wonderful artwork.
This week we re finishing up our bible verse Genesis 1:9-10 and our conversations about soil. We are moving on to the number 7 and our letter of week will be Jj along with reviewing all our colors. In writing we are beginning the 1st three letters of the child's name.Science ties in with our bible verse about soil. We will be going outside and exploring soil (i.e dirt, worms, mud and rocks)
Language Arts we will still be working on using complete sentences along with learning how to describe objects in everyday life .
Arts and crafts we will explore sand painting and leaf collecting.
This week's Bible verse is Genesis 1:11-13 along with 1 Peter 1:24-25 as the memory verse. Our weeks number 8, the color is orange and the letter we will be learning is Kk. We will work on identifying, recognizing, and writing the number, letter, and color of the week. We are still reviewing the shapes square, circle, and triangle.
Language Arts is working on memory with rhyming and finger activities throughout the week.
Arts and Crafts will be developing student's own creativity with play dough and coloring.
This week we are still reviewing Genesis 1:9-13 and adding Genesis 1:11-13 We are wrapping up our memory verse this week which is 1 Peter 1:24-25/ In math we are working with the number 8 and 9. We will work on tracing and identifying those numbers along with 1-10 oral counting. In phonics our letters of focus are L l and M m we are also working on identifying , tracing , and writing those items as well. Writing, we are still focus on the first 3 letters of the students name identifying and tracing.
This week we are reviewing all the past classroom colors and shapes. In arts and crafts we welcoming November with hand turkeys and Indian hats with history.
After returning from celebrating Veterans Day we will pick up where we left off with Genesis 1:11-13 and also Genesis 8:22.
I'm math we will be discussing the number 9 and working on identifying the number. Shapes we will be reviewing them all but will be working we the rectangle.
Language arts is working with matching and still touching on complete sentences. Phonics is working with Nn, we will work on tracing and identifying. Also work on matching the big letter with the small letter in some classroom activities this week.
Arts and crafts is all about the students falling for Fall with coat collages and leafy trees.
We are beginning to learn how to count backwards as we introduce the number zero. This weeks colors and shape will be working together while the students learn how to follow instruction. For example,stand beside the red triangle.
Language arts is working on verbal skills as we discuss trees in class. We are retracing pur steps in writing as we go back and work on the 2nd and 3rd letter in the students name. Phonics is talking about the big and small letter O.
Arts and crafts is all about individual expressions as we explore blocks and paint
This week is refreshing us on the number 0 as we oral count. The letter of the week is Pp.
Subjects shapes, colors and language arts all partner together for this short week we will be reviewing different colors, the shapes, and identifying how to explain what the students are seeing.
In writing we are focusing on the 3rd and 4th letter of students name.
Arts and crafts is still keeping up with the tree theme as we glue dirt and leaves and make thanksgiving trees.

We are reviewing Genesis 1:14-19 this week. In math we are jumping from zero to ten as we oral count and write the number ten throughout the week. Shapes is all about reviewing the circle, triangle, square, and rectangle while we introduce the star as well. Colors will be reviewing all the primary colors with crayons, chalk, and paint,
Language Arts will be about action poems and rhyming games and phonics will work with writing as students write the 1st letter in their name (no help, no dots) as well as the letter R (with dots)
Arts and Crafts is about coloring, painting, and puppet making,
Monday we are closed for Dr. Martin Luther King Day. When we return we will pick back up with reviewing all our primary colors and shapes. The number of the week is 12 and the letter is Xx. We are tracing our names in writing. The bible lessons this week are based on Genesis 1:14-19.
This week we are closing up our month with the number 12 and beginning the stages of telling time. Language Arts is partnering up with Music as we talk, sing, and learn "Twinkle Little Star"
Phonics will deal with letter Yy and Zz as we review all our colors and shapes.
Arts and Crafts is all about clay and collages.
The Bible lessons this week are coming from Genesis 1:16 and Revelations 22:16.
This week we are still working on the clock as well as basic number counting. In language arts we are becoming spy's as we reach for our favorite shapes in books, magazines, and around the room. We will continue to work on out primary shapes and colors. In phonics we are working on the short sound A. Bible lessons are being taught from Genesis 1:16.
We are starting addition (1+1=2) along with telling time. Our shape of the week is the oval and in phonics we are working on the B sound. Arts and Crafts and Science works together as we discuss and artistically express shooting stars and far away planets. This weeks Bible lessons are coming out of Psalms 189.
*During February we will continue to have history breaks where I introduce an African American person of history. Last week was Mr. Walter Payton.*
Math is still about addition (1+1=2) (2+1=3) Phonics is about sounding out the words that start with A and B. Science will be talking about our friends of the sea,the fish! Arts and Crafts is wrapping up our unit on space and we are still working on recognizing the first letter in our first names in Writing.
Our black history lesson this week will be about Rosa Parks.

February 24-28: We are wrapping up this month with science lessons about frogs along with our two addition problems in math (1+1=2 , 2+1=3)
Arts and crafts are centered around out shape the oval and we will finish up art on our friends of the sea. Our phonics is on the short sound c and d.

Black history lesson this week will be on the first black president Obama.
This week we are still working on addition 3+1=4. In language arts we are working on listening skills and in phonics we are working on the D and E sound . arts and crafts are about motor skills this week.

We are keeping out theme on creation as we talkabout many different types oGod created in Langauge Art. We will also recap on big and small.
In math,we are moving on to 3+1=4, as we use verbal and hand helded visuals. In phonics and writing we are working on being able to pick students name out of a list of names.
Shapes and colors work together as we talk about different items that have he oval and diamond shape.
Bible lessons are still based on Genesis 1:20, the 5th day of creation.
Math deals with addition 3+1=4 also reviewing 1+1=2 and 2+1=3.
Language Arts are talking about different birds and a different thing God created them for. Phonic is all about sounding out the letter in the alphabet; Ee.
Arts and Crafts ties with language as we create birds and thing that relateto birds. Bible lesson comes from Genesis 1:20-23
We are still working with different types of birds this week in language arts as it ties in with music. Phonics and writing are reviews as we continue to work on the sound of each letter.
Arts and Crafts are colorful but we are working on cutting, gluing. We are exploring our colors and learning how to stay in lines.
Our Bible lessons are based out of Genesis 1:24-25.
This week we are moving on with the birds as our theme becomes more hands on in Arts and Crafts. Science is all about discussing and acting out different bird sounds. In Phonics and Writing we are working on penmanship. Bible lessons are coming from Genesis 1:24-26.
This week we are talking about dealing with most of the animals that God created along with their different sounds. Phonics and Writing are still dealing with penmanship and holding the pencil. Math is tagging with music as we learn different body movements and hand games with addition.
Thursday is the school science fair were our class will make flowers that change colors and bottle lava lamps.
Friday school will be closed for Good Friday.
We are starting our week off with an Easter egg hunt. We are still working on our addition problems 3+1=4 and 4+1=5. Our theme this week is "Reptiles." We will read different books and see different pictures of reptiles.
Phonics is working on the sound Jj. Writing is about tracing and writing names freehanded. Arts and Crafts are dealing with modeling, creating, and imagining reptiles.
Our Bible lesson will be coming out of Genesis 1:24-26. We will continue our discussion about reptiles and how we should care of them. Science will tie into our Bible lessons as we explore different reptiles and insects. In math we are still on addition along with reviewing all of our colors and shapes from this past year. In phonics we are working on sounds for K and L. We are still working on writing names in Writing. Arts and Crafts explores how many different bugs and reptiles we can draw and create in our minds.
We are continuing our bug discussing as we review Genesis 1:24-26 and take tails around the school finding and identifying the different bugs we have right here in our back yards. We are continuing addition in Math with claps, snaps and stomps. Phonics is about the long sounds L and M; we will discuss different words that begin with the letters L and M that we use in our everyday lives. Language Arts and Music tie in together while we learn and review an old time favorite "Itsy, Bitsy, Spider." Arts and Crafts will begin with building and molding different bugs and end in a nice surprise for Mother's Day.
This weeks theme is how on the sixth day God created Man. Science and Language Arts will be dealing with dust, man was made from just dust, and our self esteem along with facial expressions as humans. Arts and Crafts also tie in with man as we dirt paint, mold faces and try out different facial expressions through paint and makers.
Bible lessons are based out of Genesis 1:26-27.
This weeks theme is dealing with skin and cells. We will be discussing how everything has cells and also God made us to have skin. Language arts is dealing with texture texture feeling and a small introduction of the five senses. Math is moving into subtraction but we will still be reviewing our addition problems. Phonics is moving on to the short sound of o, still reviewing sounds Aa-Nn. Arts and Crafts theme is all about drawing and molding things we can smell, taste, see, hear, and touch.
Monday RSCA will be closed for Memorial Day. On Tuesday we are jumping right back into discussing the five senses more in depth. Everything we will be doing will be centered around things we see, smell, hear, tasting, and can touch. Math is dealing with subtraction(2-1=1). Phonics is reviewing the sound short sounds we have been working on Aa-Oo and introducing Pp. Science will have different small projects that deal with the five senses. Arts and Crafts are about expressing feelings through colors this week.
This weeks theme is about the nervous system, bones and muscles. We will talk about how God gave us bones and also how they protect important parts of the body. Math is dealing with subtraction. Science will have some fast projects with rubber bands and jello. In writing we are beginning typing, so students can get use to a keyboard. Arts and crafts are about fun crafts and reminding students that the muscles in their hands help their fingers move.
This week theme is about food, teeth, and breathe that God gave us. Our bible verse will be Genesis 1:26-27. Math is about subs traction (3-1=2) colors and shapes are activities which are fun reminders of the colors and shapes the students already know. Phonics and writing are working with alphabet sounds and writing names(which is a reminder to some) Arts and Crafts deals with chalk, markers, and sponge painting for students creative side to show
This week we are taking about the human body and finishing the week up with individuality. In science we are talking about the brain and it's thinking ability. Arts and crafts are using our imagination to make the Brian and our own faces. Math is a review of subtraction (4-1=3) colors and shapes are also a review. Phonics and writing are also a review of upper case letters and sounds. We are still working with the bible verse Genesis 1:26-27 this week.
This week we are looking into Luke 14:28-30 but all reviewing Genesis 1:26-27. Our week'a theme will be "God has a plan for you" and also "caring for God's wonderful gift." In language we will begin to talk in complete sentences. Social studies is about keeping clean ( classroom and also bodies) our academics ( colors, shapes, phonics, writing, etc) will be reminders as we prepare for our school's vocation
